Overview
Punktuation transforms traditional punctuation marks from grammatical scaffolding into standalone elements of visual poetry. Through monumental scale, vibrating duotone colors, and hand-traced Helvetica Neue Bold letterforms, the series elevates overlooked symbols into primary bearers of meaning. Born from personal experiences with dyslexia, the project deliberately resists immediate legibility, questioning standardized communication while celebrating neurodivergent approaches to information processing. Combinations like '!...' and '?*' create meaning through spatial relationships rather than linguistic rules, turning tools of grammatical authority into vehicles for pattern-based expression. The work operates simultaneously as counter-cultural design, concrete poetry, and a critique of conventional accessibility approaches, while exploring semiotic systems that privilege spatial thinking over traditional literacy.
